- Your puppy has had its first shots and has been wormed. Refer to your puppy folder for the dates and a further description of which shots and wormer were used.
- Every effort has been made to make sure that I am selling you a healthy puppy. Just to be sure, your puppy must be vetted within the next 72 hours. If there is anything wrong, you may bring your puppy back for an exchange or refund. (Be sure to take a fecal sample in when you go).
- Your puppy is an infant. Please check with your vet before you take him to the park and to the beach. His immune system is immature and while he has had his first shots, please be aware that he is still vulnerable to life threatening diseases such as parvo.
- Please feed your puppy large breed puppy food for the first year. There is a different calcium/ phosphorus ratio that will help him grow at the appropriate rate and keep his bones and joints healthy. I will send a small bag with you when you pick your baby up so that he doesn’t get sick from switching to a new food and moving in with a new family all in the same day.
- As long as your dog is not overweight, I will guarantee against hip dysplasia up until age 2. Should you think your dog is developing hip dysplasia, please have x-rays from your vet to confirm and I will issue a refund or a different puppy.
- I recommend crate training your puppy. It will keep him safe and prevent him from sharpening his razor sharp little teeth on your antique furniture or flossing with your electrical cords. Do not use your crate as a punishment and the puppy will adjust to it very quickly and easily. He won’t mind sleeping in his crate with his favorite blanket and toys.
- Take a puppy socialization class or basic obedience class with your new puppy. What better way to bond and to teach him to adapt to your human household?
- Pick of the litter requires a 50% deposit with the balance to be paid when you come to get your little furball. No pups will be chosen until after first pick.
- If you have any questions or concerns, please call me….but not at midnight! I want you and your puppy to be happy together. This is a lifetime commitment you are making to this little guy.
- If your living situation changes and for some reason you are unable to keep your dog, please do NOT, for any reason, take your dog to a shelter. I will be happy to take the dog back and rehome him. This does not imply that I will refund your money.
- Puppies purchased will be used as companion animals or house pets. They will not be “tied outside” without any human companionship. The new owner is expected to provide reasonable shelter, veterinary care, and grooming.
- Female puppies are ready to spayed at 6-7 months of age. Males by 1 year old. Unless we have made a prior arrangement, all puppies sold will be as pets only. Breeding quality puppies will have a separate contract.
